The Sykes Lab focuses on hematopoiesis and how the normal pathways of blood cell development go awry in the setting of leukemia and other cancers as well as other rare hematologic disorders.
We have a special interest in rare disorders of myeloid biology (those problems of neutrophils and macrophages) and a special interest in solid organ malignancies that might metastasize and infiltrate the bone marrow (e.g., prostate cancer, neuroblastoma).
The lab also studies the TEMPI syndrome, an ultra-rare plasma cell disease (see separate page).
We are located within the Center for Regenerative Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
